She's REALLY depressed. D=

The thing was alive no more than an hour ago resting on my shoulder among other places when they came to visit.

Somebody cheer her up.

How to Cope After the Death of a Pet

A guide to show first-time pet-owners how to cope with the death of their pet. It is never an easy time but it is important to give yourself the chance to grieve and to remember the good times you spent with your pet. Here are some tips to assist you in getting through the loss.

Steps

1.Have a good cry! It's okay and normal to get those emotions out in this way. Once you suffer the loss of a loved one, everything seems to remind you of it. Empty food bowl, unused collar, almost everything strewn around the house will remind you. When you're ready take everything that your pet loved, and put it in a bag. You can put the bag in storage, or bury it along with your pet. If there is an afterlife, your pet will be very happy that he has his toys.

2. Give your pet a nice funeral. Say some special words that recall the wonderful things about your pet and put some flowers on its grave; just as you would for a family member. You can even order a suitable memorial stone over the internet. Try to bury it in the place where your pet had the most fun. For instance, if they had an amazing amount of time at your beach house in California, bury them there. This will make you feel better about it, because they will live on in a place they once loved.

3. Take it easy for a week. If you are prone to eat obsessively, or watch a lot of TV, etc., when you're upset, try to stop yourself. Instead, imagine you can talk to your pet mentally. It works surprisingly well and will provide you with some comfort. Remember to stay active. If you go into hiding for a month looking like a twig, you'll probably come out more like a squash if you don't exercise.

4. Prepare a scrapbook of all the fun you and your pet had together. Put in a picture of it with its birth date, death date, favourite foods, toys and any other details you want to include. It's a nice way to remember them and will help you to recall the good times. Consider using their collar to hold the book closed. It's a nice decoration, and will remind you of all the fun you two had.

5. Design and upload a web page memorializing your pet. Have a comment section for people's sympathy. This is a good way to make friends with those who have suffered the same loss.

6.Take special care of your other pets. They will feel the loss too. But don't overfeed them.

Tips

* Don't view a new pet as a "replacement" for the old one; this can never be the case. Think of your new pet as a new being that your heart has room for.

* See a therapist if you continue to mourn and feel depressed. Often talking with a sympathetic professional will help ease the grief and allow you to move forward.

* Remember to take each day as it comes, as each day passes the grief lessens, but you will never forget the memories of your special pet.

* Read the Rainbow Bridge Poem poem for comfort.

* Depending on religion, some people find it comforting to pray for their animal or take comfort in the thought that their much beloved pet is in a better place.

* If your pet has died of sickness, remember that they are now in peace with no pain in the heavens, and that will make you happy for them. If your pet has died of old age, remember they have came to your world before and had a good time.

Warnings

Some unhelpful yet well meaning people say that you shouldn't talk about your loss. Actually, the best thing to do is talk about it. If you bottle something up, it can make you ill.

I HAD TOTALLY FORGOTTEN ABOUT THIS.

It is a joke video I made of the said rat when my sister first brought her to the house. I made it with my sister's phone that I basically used when she wasn't looking. So yeah, ironically this is the ONLY footage of said rat. My sister actually said it was touching and uploaded up to youtube.

Ignore my dry improv singing.

That is ironic because my friend got arrested and my other friend did a memorial video as well : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cUjCLomZX7Y&feature=channel_page
