I mean, it's just the whole thing about people fleeing the country on shoddy rafts... I don't think that's just an illusion made by the media. |

No it's true... People will always be divided. But what about the people who flee here from Mexico and other Central American countries. Are they not free and democratic? Also where in my country, Puerto Rico a U.S. colony, they have Dominicans risking their lives rafting across the Carribean to get here. Dominican Rep. is also free (capitalist) and democratic (bourgeoisie democracy). |

Still, though, in a nation that is clearly not giving its people basic human rights, it's no entirely fair to say that it's a fabrication of the media to say that Castro is disliked by his people. As for a revolution? Who knows? It's possible that he's resented, but it's kept down well enough that people haven't organized any serious attempts at revolution... It just seems a bit odd to think of people supporting a nation that isn't giving them basic rights. Now, I know there are supporters, and I know that Cuba isn't some 3rd world nation with millions of starving people on the streets, but you can't really look at the way people are treated there and give ol' Castro thumbs up. Anyways, I don't want this to turn into a big debate... so if you choose to rebut me, I won't continue, just for the sake of not turning Collision Chaos Zone into Debate Zone Edited by Kiorein, Jun 19 2009, 11:32 PM.
