#5 is doubtful.
#3 is stupid as almost any major change a hundred years ago will irrevocably alter the world into something barely recgonizable.

They probably took artistic license and exxagerated/changed some things to make an entertaining article, I'm guessing.
Since most people probably can't/won't verify the info...
Ignorance really is bliss in this case since I'm no longer as entertained by the article knowing that most of the stuff wouldn't have happened.
