Using gems instead of "Health", "Power", and "Energy"

Here it is with Power and Energy not on screen:

Red Gem: Represents health, it'll be more transparent depending on the percentage.
Clear/Yellow Gem: Represents Time, so it'll be more transparent if they're further away from being ready, and it'll be Yellow if it's their turn.

And with Power and Energy:

This is very roughly done, and some optimization will have to be done, most likely involving where the attack selection is drawn, but I'll likely still need to use these gems to keep it compact.

Your thoughts?

I think having a bar (a small one) next to the gems would be nice. Or and end animation when it gets full. The last 10% of transparency is hard to tell, usually.

The plan is to have Khrene make sprites for each level of transparency (instead of transparency), so there'll be a noticeable difference between 90% and 100%

The graphics are all 16 bit, actually...

and the HUD is using pac-man colors, Khrene is going to design the final one

Maybe they should have a completely different color when completely full. Kind of like when a power meter is charged up completely, it usually gets highlighted in white to indicate it's gone as far as it can go.

I got responses saying it needed work... I didn't touch up the gems at all, but how's this:

The one gripe I have with this new setup is that it covers up the lowest enemy <_> It goes away after you pick an attack though
