Well I wanted to get this place active, and to do that effectively I need something spiffy! Character portraits to go in the menu!... ...Didn't turn out to well, I'm not that good unless I really have something in my brain, or have a good reference on the position and the person's traits in that position. So I've decided that maybe someone else would be better suited to do this especially since I have the cast's battle sprites to do, and that's a crucial job that I don't need anymore reason to put off. Falcon did an excellent job with character artwork, but I think we might need you to do battle backgrounds, TTG could you whip up some portraits? You're much better at keeping a constant style than I am, and at the least my artistic equal. I still have something to show you guys though, I started doing TMX's portrait!...  <=/ ...and unfortunately it's not that great, I had no clue what position I wanted him in, and I don't know what possessed me to have him face down. BUT I got inspiredly lazy and decided to draw over the Bruce Lee pic I was using as reference.  And the result so far.

Khrene that sprite/portrait is fan-freakin'-tastic. I have a monor critique that I do have to make though, TMX needs a to be a caucasian teenager who's, well, kinda cute. He doesn't have to be a total bishie, but maybe something a little more in line with the rest of our group of generaly healthy teenagers. And this next part is hardly a critique at all, but the expression looks pissed off and/or constipated. While this is potentially an expression TMX could show at some point, his default expression is something more like enthusiasm. You've shown that you're more than good enough an artist to pull this off, I'm sure you can do it. |
