Kio edit: This is now the megathread for all Italic RPG contributions and developments. I have to use a school computer so I can't access the folder of sharing with these files, my flash drive lost in the abyss, and the macs and non-specialty computers (where you have to be in specific classes) don't take SD cards so that's why I'm posting this here. Big playable update coming February 1st* to conclude the "San" development phase. ![]() This demo will feature: -Over 90% menu completion. The only section left untouched will be "Data Book", which is where we'll be keeping the Bestiary, Journal, and etc. Everything else will be appearing! This means everything you see here will be functional: Main Menu Screenshot -Fully playable battles with all functioning attacks including their own Quicktime events. -Stat ups / Proficiency ups -Several enemies and characters to play as. These will all be random and stolen from other series, as well as most of the environment graphics. Next major update will feature actual italic RPG stuff. -Rough map system, you can walk around on a map and fight monsters and maybe pick up treasure. -Rough dialogue system if I get that done *:Unless we fail miserably Edited by Kiorein, Jan 13 2012, 11:00 AM.

Menus and battle system will be spot on, but without the polish and original graphics/animations. The menus will be especially similar to what they'll be like in the finished game. We will probably animate the menus in a later development cycle, though. Status update: Finished the "Buffs" system that will be used for Status Ailments, Passive Abilities, Equipment Abilities, and etc. FUN STUFF SON. I think it may be inefficient so I may redo it later. Also, TMX's base stats: Health: 90 Power: 35 Energy: 60 Strength: 80 Magic: 35 Defense: 90 M. Defense: 85 Speed: 75 Resistance: 35 Vitality: 40 Cool: 30 Spirit: 80 Edited by Kiorein, Jan 15 2012, 05:38 PM.

Concept/Game Summary: Italic RPG takes place in the fantastic, aptly-named world: Italic. It's a world of mystery, home to modern and futuristic technology, but somehow almost totally uncharted. Its land is also filled with magic and monsters. I mean, how could it not be? The mysterious nature of the world isn't a real concern for most inhabitants, it's apparently always been this way and everything's fine. The different cities/nations of the world don't interact much, and have varying levels of development, but are primarily modern, featuring typical modern conveniences, but featuring some futuristic technology, and some areas being predominantly futuristic. The game serves to parody other RPGs, while still maintaining its own world and lore. Plot Summary: As told by Kiorein Life was totally rad for a while. Everyone was living their happy lives, especially me. The surf's totally rad, bro. Nothing much was out of the ordinary, other than that one time when I found a weird tile with a flame face on it and it fused into my trunks. I didn't care about it then, but it was apparently a big deal. Well, anyways, life went on as usual until that GT guy showed up. The guy had the nerve to send in his minions to thrash the frosty shake place and take our Frosty Freezer Generator, making it impossible to make shakes! Where were we supposed to get another one? Well, I headed off with this dude named Instant to try and find out what his deal was. Apparently, he and his army loved shakes and wanted a big supply of them. Well, this wasn't gonna happen if I had anything to say about it. Me and my bros gotta have our shakes. Oh, and also his army was assembled to take over the world. That was kinda a big deal. Also, he tried to kill me and Instant because apparently we had some kind of fantastic powers that would "Threaten his empire" or something. Oh, he totally called it. We made sure to find other people with the same powers as us, the same kinda power he was so afraid of. We ended up encountering and teaming up with a buncha guys who have the same weird "tile" powers that I have. And a lot of them had a beef with this GT guy, too. What a jerk, am I right? Well, our searches for GT brought us all across the land, and things started getting weird when we started learning about some kind of "Italideity", some sort of godly being that was planning to destroy the world. They said it created our world and planned to destroy it. Like, erase it from existence. That obviously makes no sense, but people were taking this stuff MONDO seriously. The story got even more believable when we found out that our pal, Pregga, had the crazy ability to summon "lesser" deities (why the heck did Pregga get to be the summoning dude, he's just a weird horse-loving dude who punches people). It got even weirder when we found out how all this had to do with GT... --Places which characters hail from, names tentative: "Palm Town" Fantastic relaxed beachside town were Kiorein and Instant live. Its greatest feature is its shoreside with great waves, making a popular past time surfing. Other similar radical sports are popular, along the vein of skateboarding. Everyone's favorite beverage is the Frosty Shake, and the town's Frosty Shake Place is always packed. The town is far away from any other civilization, and has a very unique and radical culture where nobody does any work. "Wil' Wil' West" The farmlands not too far north from Palm Town have a western theme, and Khrene, the cowboy is met here. It's a secluded, lawless land that seems to attract unwanted riff raff. Some people, like Khrene, live there after being banished from the island of Texas. Pregga is also met here, who comes from some unknown land of great class and fortune, attracted by word of the great stallions that people like to use there instead of actual vehicles that they could easily get. Sta ropolis The massive city Starmaster once reigned. It's a city of great technology that was partially destroyed by GT's brutal attacks, and partially destroyed by its own inhabitants. The city is generally in disrepair and the population has greatly dwindled. It's divided into three main segments, the Marvelous Undersea Utopia ("Stairlantis"), the Standard Ground-level Regulartropolis, ("Stairopolis"), and the Fantastic Cosmical Space Station, ("Starmaster's Space Station"). The name of the city is actually "Stairopolis", but is thought Staropolis because of the broken sign at the entrance, reading "Welcome to Sta rolpis", broken between the "a" and "r". Srol's Void The area of nothingness that Srol inhabits. Shrouded in mystery, etc. etc. GT's Castle An ancient castle that GT uses as his base of operations. It's a massive castle full of GT's twisted modifications. Caketown Swanson's hometown. It's your average town, except for the big deal they make out of cakes. The best cakes in the world, they boast! It's hard to argue against these cakes, they're pretty good. |
