Okay, this topic is for posting.. uh.. ideas for Italic RPG. Throw stuff at the topic and see what sticks, etc. etc.

I want this to be somewhat structured though, so at least people will know what kind of stuff I want out of this. So we'll be using Topics. I'll be posting Topics to post about, and you can post your own.

Topic: Character Introduction

I guess I'll start! Kiorein, the raddest surfer of Panic Shores. His life is so awesome dude, all he does is surf, eat, drink frosty shakes, and sleep. Some time ago he found some sort of Tile with a smiling flame on it. It fused into his favorite blue trunks and gave it a jammin new design! Instead of investigating, he just went surfing some more. Our story starts off as we find Kiorein on the beach, craving a frosty shake. But there's some sort of frosty shake shortage??? WHAT??? Who could be responsible for this???

Next character to Introduce (Storyline wise): Instant.

Also here's the old topic where I was writing stuff out because apparently some people never read it: http://italicforum.com/topic/3056115/1/?x=90#new

You don't have to post intros in order, and you can post intros for stuff that's already been posted. AND YOU CAN ALSO CREATE YOUR OWN TOPIC AT ANY TIME.

JUST POST IDEAS

Major Enemies

GT
...

and GT's minions (in ascending order of rank):
Twotails
Episonic
Silver
Fangoram
CT

Fun part about all those guys is I have no idea what their character designs will be like. Also, what kind of random goons will GT have anyways.

You know, milkshakes don't really quench your thirst that much.
Well, any time now.

Shouldn't we have a character like Srol or Stair who has his own plans to kill all of us after saving the world and such?

the idea was aired that characters should frequently die and come back to life without explanation.

Hey just in case you guys forgot, here's a breakdown of all the characters:

Kiorein

Summary

He's main character, so obviously he has to be the "Mario" of the team. Well rounded indeed, his Water and Fuel* *(placeholder name for the fire-up set) sets can provide a fantastic mix of offense, defense, and support, and his physical Staff set can provide some cheap physical damage. His advanced magic, Eel Animation allows him to summon eels that ... well I don't know what they'll do yet for sure. They might act as pets, or like summons from final fantasy and show up to do one attack. Kiorein has good potential to learn additional magic.

Skill Breakdown

Water: Mostly offensive in nature, using water, and even ice and vapor to attack foes. But also can provide some support moves in the form of healing and shielding. The support aspects aren't very potent, but are useful in a pinch.
Fuel: SUCH POWER. The smiling flame allows Kio to bestow power boosts to himself and his allies, and also replenish Power and Energy.
Staff: Simple striking attacks that do decent damage and can give Kio special boosts.
Eel Animation

Instant

Summary

The versatile speedster. Using his Skates power-up, he can give himself speed boosts and attack with lightning-fast attacks. His Skates can also utilize special wheels, which he can equip two of at a time. These Wheels allow him to use a variety of spells, and can be swapped during battle. Each wheel will have a motif, such as Flame Wheel or Medic Wheel and will provide a very wide variety of abilities, but he can only access up to 6 of these spells (3 from each wheel) at any given time without swapping. He can also use Magic Tricks, which are some of the lowest forms of magic, which can be unpredictable or ineffective. Instant has below average potential to learn additional magic.

Skill Breakdown

Skates: Provides boosts to Instant's speed, and physical attacks based on speed.
Wheel: Taps into the powers of the magic wheels, allowing Instant to have access to one of the widest selections of spells, but only to two sets of 3 from this selection.
Magic Trick: Low-class magic that has limited uses but can be fun to use.

Pregga Zexas

Summary

The tough fisticuffs boxer. His fists will punch you and then when you die they'll punch your ghost. His Brawling set is his general fighting set, allowing him to use some tough melee moves. His Boxing Gloves set gives him access to more extravagant moves involving his gloves. His Honor set will provide random effects generally emphasizing support moves that only affect Pregga or an enemy. Pregga has low potential to learn magic.

Skill Breakdown

Brawling
Boxing Gloves
Honor

-Rage: Gives Pregga a buff that converts some of the damage taken to Strength buffs. (Reducing damage intake)
-Vengeance: (Passive) Whenever a teammate dies, Pregga gets a small boost to several stats.
-Taunt: Target is more likely to attack Pregga.

Khrene

Summary

Rough n' tough explosives expert. He can use his Bombs set to fling bombs, which deal good damage and can inflict various status effects. The bomb attacks focus on dealing high damage to multiple targets, disorienting foes, and delaying their attacks for further onslaught. His Gravity set allows him to manipulate gravity to deal damage, slow the enemy, and boost the party. These sets can work together nicely to keep the foe from taking too much action. He can also use the "Throwing Weapon" set, where he uses thrown weapons. Some of these weapons will return to him after being thrown. The effect of the attack will depend on what was thrown, but generally will just deal damage. Khrene has average potential to learn additional magic.

Skill Breakdown

Bombs
Gravity
Throwing Weapon

Starmaster

Summary

Ultimate magic user here! Phase Block has the extremely useful abilities to cut away all kinds of defenses the enemy might have up, including dropping their defenses, negating their defense boost or other boosts, dropping their resistance/vitality, as well as the ability to provide some defensive perks for the party, mainly in the form of protection from defense drops and from status ailments. Star Magic is the most powerful offensive magic available to the party, but will also have some opportunities to give the party stat boosts while dealing damage. Her weapon set is "Wrists", which will deal little damage due to using the Strength stat for formulas, but will also serve as a status inflicter set. The set still uses spell-like animations. Starmaster has decent potential to learn additional magic.

Skill Breakdown

Wrists

-Might Gleam: Deals average Energy damage based on Strength, and inflicts Level 1 Stun.
-Swirl Gleam: Deals average Energy damage based on Strength, and inflicts Level 1 Disorient.
-Star Gleam: Deals average Energy damage based on Strength, and lowers foe's Magic stat.

Phase Block

-Phase Armor: Dramatically lowers foe's Armor.
-Phase Guard: Lowers foe's Defense.
-Dispel Guard: Removes any defense boosts on target.

Star Magic

TMX

Summary

TMX the Noble. The Knight of the Life Vest. He defends his allies with the Life Vest, which provides the best defensive boosts available to the party, as well as abilities that allow the team to be invulnerable to a single attack, cheat death once, increase his own threat level (make all enemies more willing to strike him), and other fantastic defensive abilities. His "Battle Cry" set provides simple support moves that either affect the whole party or the whole enemy party, his "Rabbit's Foot" set allows him to use special moves and personal support moves, and his "Longsword" set will let him use simple sword moves for decent damage. His sword "Kura" will allow him to use the special sword set "Mage Bane". TMX has almost no potential to learn magic.

Skill Breakdown

-Longsword
-Mage Bane
-Battle Cry
-Rabbit's Foot
-Life Vest

Swanson

Summary

The fantastic chef! The healer/supporter of the team, he uses his Cake set to provide heals and buffs to the party. These Cakes range from simple healing cakes, to revival cakes, to cakes that provide all kinds of stat boosts, status heals. His "Entertain" set, which includes song and dance moves provides... oddly enough, abilities that provide offensive power and status effects against enemies, as well as some support powers. His weapon set Spatula is your run-of-the-mill physical set that does nothing more than decent damage. Swanson has almost very high potential to additional learn magic.

Skill Breakdown

-Cake
-Entertain
-Spatula

Srol

Summary

The master of time and the void. Srol's Clock set gives him a wide variety of abilities. Its main perk is its crowd control abilities, using time to inflict status and stat drops that will prevent the foe from attacking. It also features boosts for the team, including turn order boosts, reaction time boosts, and speed-ups. His Void set does absolutely nothing because it is nothing. Well, not really. It allows Srol to deal damage and status effects by exposing the foe to the void. Finally, he gets the "Gun" set, and uses his flechette firing weapon to attack foes. Srol's has average potential to learn additional magic.

CT

Summary

The final party member and the user of the Jelly Bomb. He is a magic user that surpasses Star in terms of versatility, and rivals her in terms of damage. His Jelly Bomb set allows him to use outrageously powerful but unpredictable bomb attacks that deal heavy damage and inflict statuses. However, it has a chance of backfiring and harming CT or even the party. He can also use "Shape Magic", which is a high versatility magic set that provides damage and healing, but like Jelly Bomb can also backfire. He can also use the "Rod" set, which is his weapon set and mostly allows him to deal damage and his his best bet when it comes to performing safe attacks that won't backfire.

Skill Breakdown

Shape Magic
Jelly Bomb
Rod

So is CT the double agent or does is he like Magus in Chrono Trigger, where he starts as a villain but joins the team later?
